The objectives of this research were (1) to know the students pronunciation skill at the eighth grade students of MTs N 2 Kebumen in academic year 2016/2017, (2) to find out whether or not the use of limericks effective to improve students pronunciation skill at the eighth grade student of MTs N 2 Kebumen in academic year 2016/2017. The researcher used pre-test and post-test to collect the data.
The research was an experimental research which conducted at the eighth grade students of MTs N 2 Kebumen in the academic year 2016/2017. The researcher took 52 students among 182 students as the sample.
The findings shown above can be proved that from the amount of samples (N=52) and the level of significant (5%), the result of the students pronunciation skill at the eighth grade students of MTs N 2 Kebumen in academic year 2016/2017 is the mean of experimental group is 64.92 and the mean score of control group is 54.35. The computation done both manually and by SPSS is 3.22. Based on the value of t-table is 2.009. The computation shows that tvalue is higher than ttable (tvalue > ttable) that is 3.22 > 2.009 so it can be stated that the alternative hypothesis which says that the use of limericks is effective in improving students‟ pronunciation skill at the eighth grade students of MTsN 2 Kebumen in the academic year 2016/2017 is accepted, while, the null hypothesis which says that The use of Limericks is not effective in improving students‟ pronunciation skill at the eighth grade students of MTsN 2 Kebumen in the academic year 2016/2017 is rejected. |
