Error Analysis Of Pronunciation Produce By English Non-Native Speaker Found In Java Heat Movie And Its Application To Teaching Speaking

Abstract

This thesis is mainly aimed to analyze error pronunciation made by Hashim on the Java Heat. This thesis is qualitative research. The aims of this study are to describe error pronunciation English word and to describe its application in teaching speaking at the tenth grade of senior high school in the academic year of 2016/2017. This study used qualitative research because the researcher wants to describe about the kinds of error in Java Heat movie. In this research, the object as all the utterances made by Hashim on Java Heat movie. The researcher use documentation to collect the data. He did the steps such as reading, watching, collecting, making table, classifying, making the table of the data that categorized into English phonemes. The researcher used coding data technique when analyzing the data to make the analysis easy and effective. The result of this research shows that there are three kinds of pronunciation errors in Java Heatmovie. There are 41 error with most dominant error is diphthongs error, 15 error of vowels, 18 diphthong, and 8 consonants. First is vowel. There are 15 errors that are the number of percentage 37 %. Second is a diphthong. There are 18 errors that are the number of percentage 44%. And the last is consonants. There are 8 errors the number of percentage 19 %. The researcher hopes that this research will be useful for teachers, students and other researcher.
