Abstract:
The aim of this thesis are: (1) To find out kind of techniques implemented by the English teacher in teaching vocabulary of second grade of SDIT Ulul Albab 1 Purworejo in the academic year 2016/2017; (2) To find out the problems faced by the teacher in teaching vocabulary in the second grade of SDIT Ulul Albab 1 Purworejo in the academic year 2016/2017; (3) To find out how the teacher solve the problems occurs in teaching vocabulary in the second grade of SDIT Ulul Albab 1 Purworejo in the academic year 2016/2017.
This research was conducted by using descriptive qualitative method.The researcher makes an appointment with the English teacher of SDITUlul Albab about the time of observation that will be hold. The first time by recording the process. Second phase by record the teaching learning process,the interview with the teacher. The researcher gets the result of observation and interview with the teacher and get ready to analyze the data.
In the second grade of SDIT Ulul Albab, there are three techniques applied in teaching English vocabulary. They are total physical response, language games, and fill in the blank. There are only three techniques applied since the students are still in the second grade and they are also new to English. Thus the teacher only applied the proper technique to avoid the students get bored.
