dc.description.abstract The study is about the effectiveness of using pictures and questions media in teaching writing descriptive text at the tenth grade students’ of SMA N 1 Samigaluh in the academic year of 2016/2017. The objective of this research is to describe whether or not the use of pictures and questions media in teaching writing descriptive text at the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Samigaluh in the academic year of 2016/2017 is effective. . The population of the research is the tenth grade students of SMA N 1 Samigaluh. The research methodology is an experiment research, which is conducted in one class that is XA consists of 26 students. The XA is taught by using pictures and questions media. The technique used in analyzing the data is t-test formula. It is used to determine whether there is a significance difference between the means of pre-test and post-test. The mean score of pre-test is 62.03 while the mean score of the post-test is 76.5. The result of t-value computation is 14.79. The computation shows that t-value is higher than t-table is 14.79 >2.01. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be stated that the hypothesis “teaching writing descriptive text at the tenth grade students’ of SMA N 1 Samigaluh in the academic year of 2016/2017 by using Pictures and Questions is effective” is accepted. en_US
