dc.description.abstract Reading is one of English language skills that has been taught in senior high school. Participle also includes one of teaching materials in senior high school. Participle often appears in English texts and passages in senior high school reading material. Understanding participle helps students to understand the whole text better. The researcher investigates participles in C ‘n S English Magazine to acquire authentic and attractive material to teach participle for senior high school students. The aim of this research is to classify the types and the forms of participles in C ‘n S English magazine. Moreover, the researcher also describes its application in teaching reading for senior high school students. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method in this study. The inquirer analysis words are used to analyze the data instead of statistics. This study consists of a set of interpretation about participles found in C ‘n S (Cool and Smart) English magazine in order to make it clear and able to be used in teaching-learning activity for the senior high school students. The data source in this study is C ‘n S (Cool and Smart) English magazine Vol. 16 published for 5 August-September 2016. The result shows that in C ‘n S English magazine, there are 15 present participles (10,27%) and 131 past participles (89,73%). Furthermore, the forms of participle in C ‘n S English magazine are 15 general form –ing participle (10,27%), 125 general form –ed participle (85,62%), and 6 perfect form participle (4,11%). Thus, there are 140 general form participle (95,89%) and 6 perfect form participle (4,11%). These research findings can be implemented in the teaching reading through learning discussion text material for XII grade of senior high school students. en_US
