dc.description.abstract |
The objective of this study were to know the students’ ability in writing
recount text and to find out whether the use of personal photographs is effective or
not in teaching writing recount text at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 4
Purworejo in the academic year of 2016/2017.
The method used in this study was quantitative method. The design of this
study was quasi-experimental design. Technique of analyzing data used
quantitative analyze to find means of pre-test and post-test. The subject of this
study was the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Purworejo in the
academic year of 2016/2017. The researcher took 64 students as the sample. They
were 32 students of X MIA 1 as the experimental group and 32 students of X MIA
3 as the control group. The control group was taught using picture and the
experimental group was taught using personal photographs. The researcher used
written test to get data. The result test was analyzed using t-test formula and
SPSS.
The research finding shows that t-value sig.(2-tailed) is higher than t-test
by using 5% alpha of significant (0.05 > 0.00). Based on the result above, it meant
that the use of personal photographs in teaching writing of recount text is effective
at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Purworejo in the academic year of
2016/2017. |
