dc.description.abstract Grammar is one of English language skills that has been taught in junior high school. Grammar can be found in spoken and written language. Furthermore, grammar often appears in English texts. Understanding grammar helps students to understand the whole text better. The researcher investigates linguistic form and lexical meaing to acquire authentic and attractive material to teach short functional text for junior high school students. The aim of this research is to identify the linguistic forms of cosmetics English slogan advertisement found in internet. Furthermore, the aim of this research is also to know the lexical meanings of cosmetics English slogan advertisement found in internet. Moreover, the researcher also describes its application in teaching grammar for junior high school students. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method in this study. The inquirer analysis words are used to analyze the data instead of statistics. This study consists of a set of interpretation about linguistics form and lexical meanings of English cosmetic slogan found in internet in order to make it clear and able to be used in teachinglearning activity for junior high school students. The data source in this study is cosmetics English slogan advertisement found in internet. The result shows that from 30 cosmetic English slogans, there are 22 slogans of cosmetic products using phrases (73%), which consist of 17 noun phrases, 2 participle phrases, and 3 adjective phrases. On the other hand, there are 8 cosmetic products using clauses (27%), which consist of 6 independent clauses and 2 dependent clauses. Furthermore, the lexical meanings of all the English cosmetic slogans are easy to understand. Moreover, the research findings can be applied in the teaching grammar through learning short functional text material for VIII grade of junior high school students. en_US
