Abstract:
This objective of this study is to find out whether using team word webbing effective or not in teaching vocabulary at the eleventh grade students of SMK N 1 Kebumen in academic year 2016/2017. The research is being carried out SMK N 1 Kebumen from 26th April to 11th Mei 2017.
It is an experimental research. In this research, the researcher uses purposive sampling in taking the sample because of the limitation of time. The researcher takes 70 students coming from 2 classes as her sample. To gain the data, she uses multiple choice test as her instrument which consist of 25 questions with 4 (four) options. After getting the data, she then did an analysis the data in order to answer the statements of the problem and the analysis.
From the computation, it is known that the result of post-test shows that the mean score experiment class is 92.00 categorized very good and the mean score of control class is 64.91 belong to sufficient category based on the criteria reference Arikunto (2013:245). Because data have normal distribution (4.23 And 6.87 < 11.07) and they are homogeneous (1.71 <1.82), then the researcher uses t-test to do test of hypothesis. From the computation it shows that tvalue is higher than ttable (7,20>2.00) which means that the hypothesis alternative is accepted and hypothesis null is rejected. In other words, it can be said that there is a significant difference on the mastery of vocabulary between class taught using team word webbing technique and those taught without team word webbing on the eleventh grade students of SMK N 1 Kebumen in the academic year of 2016/2017. The researcher concludes that using team word webbing in teaching vocabulary is effective at the eleventh grade students of SMK N 1 Kebumen in the academic year of 2016/2017.
