Abstract:
Morphological analysis is a key area in exploring vocabularies. Morphological analysis itself is an analysis that breaks words into its elements (prefix and suffix). Meanwhile, the derivative affix is part of the morphological analysis. Assessment of affixes derivation is important for students, when students are able to identify derivative affixes; they can develop their vocabulary because from a single word it can get many words with different parts of the conversation. Charlotte’s Web is a novel inspired by a true story from the author E.B White
This study uses descriptive research design because it aims to determine the affix of derivatives in a novel entitled Charlotte's Web. After analyzing the data, the researcher knows the data is well analyzed because the affix of derivatives in this research can be used to sharpen our sensitivity in understanding the word and the process of formation as easy as possible,
The results of this thesis study indicate that the type of derived percentage is the final percentage because the data indicates that there is 89% for the suffix, and the prefix is 11%. The application of the result, it is focused in teaching vocabulary and the part of speech materials in senior high school.
