dc.description.abstract English is International language in the world. In Junior High School up to University level, English is lesson that important to teach for the student. But, there are many factor that caused the students‟ difficulties in learning English. Using stick figure animation as media is alternative way to teach English easily and effectively. Students need the new things in learning English process. The researcher aimed to find out whether the use of stick figure effective to improve student‟s vocabulary mastery at the seventh grade student of SMP Muhammadiyah Kertek in the academid year 2015/2016. The type of the research is quantitative with an experimental design. The population of this research was the seventh grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Kertek which consist of 50 students. The amount of sample was 50 students. Sample is taken using saturated sampling technique. Independent variable of this study is using stick figure animation. Dependent variable of this study is the students‟ scores in multiple choice test. The instrument which used to get data is multiple choice test. The techniques of analyzing the data are descriptive analysis in finding mean, median, mode, range, variance, standard deviation and inferential analysis is used to conclude the hypothesis. Based on the computation, the mean score of experimental group was 76.67 and the mean of control group was 68.46. Besides, to know whether Ha is accepted or rejected the researcher consulted to the t test.The t-value was consulted to the t-table at the 5%significance level and the degree of freedom is 48. It showed that the t-table is 2.11 and the t-value was 4.59. It means that t-value was higher that t-table so, it can be concluded that the use of stick figure animation for teaching vocabulary to the seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Kertek in academic year 2015/2016 is effective. en_US
