Abstract:
Song is not only used as entertainment but also as media of learning
process. In the song, there are many elements of words that can be learned. One of
the elements is adjective. Students can learn adjective through a song to make
easier in learning grammar. Therefore, this research concerns about adjective.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research. In collecting data, the
researcher does some steps. Those are searching the song, listening the songs,
writing the song lyrics, and identifying the adjectives. In analyzing the data, the
researcher has some following steps: (1) identifying the types of adjective in
Paramore Band Album’s Brand New Eyes, (2) analyzing the forms of adjective,
(3) describing the implementation of Brand New Eyes album in teaching
grammar, and (4) drawing the conclusion.
The result of the research shows that the total of adjective is 91. Based on
types of adjectives, there are 5 common adjectives (5.50%), 0 proper adjectives
(0%) , 0 compound adjectives (0%), 48 definite article (52.7%), 30 indefinite
articles (32.9%), and 8 indefinite adjectives (19.04%). Based on form of adjective,
total of adjective is 21, there are 4 noun – adjective (19.04%), 13 verb – adjective
(61.9%), 4 adjective – adjective (19.04%). The implementation will be in
descriptive text related to the material about describing people, tourist object and
a historical building for tenth grade students of senior high school on the material
of adjectives.
