The objectives of this study is to describe The Effectiveness of Using
Animation Video in Teaching Writing Narrative Text at the Eighth Grade
Students of SMP N 4 Purworejo in the Academic Year 2015/2016. It is aimed at
finding out whether or not there is effective.
This research is called a quantitative research with an experimental design.
In this research, the population is the eighth grade students of SMP N 4 Purworejo
with the total number of population is 256 students. The sample of this research is
64 students, they are 32 students as control group and 32 students as experimental
group. The researcher took the sample by using purposive sampling and the
instrument which is used to get data is writing test. The techniques of analyzing
data are descriptive statistics and inferential analysis use SPSS 16.0. The
researcher analyzed the data using descriptive statistics to find mean, median,
mode, range, standard deviation and variance, whereas inferential analysis is used
to prove the hypothesis test in the significance level 0.05.
The result of of t-test based on the computation of SPSS 16.0 show that tvalue
> t-table (7.216>2.000) and p-value<α (0.00<0.05) at the 95% confidence
interval of the differences. It is significant because the Sig. (2-tailed) is lower than
0.05 (0.00<0.05). In addition, the result of the data analysis shows that the mean
of score pre-test experimental group is 72.81 and the mean of score post-test is
78.59. It is increasing of score was 5.78. Therefore, the researcher’s hyphothesis
with 0.95 or 95% of significant level is accepted and consequently null
hyphothesis (Ho) is rejected. |
