dc.description.abstract |
This research is aimed to find out The Effectiveness of Using Hyponymy Game in Teaching Vocabulary for the Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Kajoran in the Academic year of 2015/2016.
In this research, the researcher takes two classes as the sample. The subject research is class 7D and 7G which consists of 30 students in every class. While the instrument that is used in this thesis, is test. In collecting the data, the researcher used pre-test and post-test. Before conducting post-test, the researcher gives treatment.After getting enough data, the researcher calculated the data using t-test polled variance. Based on the previous computation, the mean score of post-test of experimental group is 81.27 and the mean of post-test of control group is 65.30 to see whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected, the t-value is consulted to the t-table at the 0.05 significance level. It shows that the t-table is 1.861 and the t-value is 1.995. It means that t-value is higher than t-table, that is 1.995> 1.861.So, it can be concluded that the use of Hyponymy Game in Teaching Vocabulary for the Seventh Grade Students of SMP Negeri 1 Kajoran in the Academic year of 2015/2016 is effective. Teaching vocabulary though hyponymy game is more effective than without it. The teacher should provide interesting activity and material in order to prevent the students from being bored and encourage the student‟s interest. |
