dc.description.abstract Speaking is the most important skills in learning English. The best way to learn speaking is practicing to speak. Time token arends is one of the methods that can be used in teaching speaking. The purpose of this research is to find out whether using Time Token Arend is effective or not to improve students‟ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMK YPE Sawunggalih Kutoarjo. The type of this research is quantitative research with an experimental method. The researcher uses one group pretest-posttest design in doing the research. In this research the researcher took 34 students of one class as sample from 138 students as population. Then, the researcher gave pre-test and post-test to the sample. After doing the research, the researcher got the data both from pre-test and post-test. There were 34 students who did the test given by the researcher. Based on the data of pre-test and post-test, we can see the result of the mean score of post-test is higher than the mean score of pre-test (82.18>71.88). After analyzing the data, the result of computation shows that t-table is higher than t-value, that is -1.997>-11.932. So, it can be stated that the hypothesis “Using Time Token Arends (TTA) is effective to improve students‟ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMK YPE Sawunggalih Kutoarjo in the academic year 2015/2016” is accepted. en_US
