dc.description.abstract Speaking is the most important tools in using language, because of language people are able to communicate with other people, join information and describe a place to someone else. By using dialogue with drill of rejoinder they will know and practice how to pronounce English utterance words. The objective of the research is to find out whether drill of rejoinder is effective or not to improve speaking ability of seventh grade students in SMP N 3 Gombong.The type of the research is experimental research the population of this research is Seventh grade students of SMP N 3 Gombong in the academic year 2013/2014 which consist of 224 students. The researcher took 64 students as the sample. The researcher uses test as the instrument and also gave method drill of rejoinder to experimental group. The result of the research found that the use drill of rejoinder is effective to improve speaking ability. It can be seen from the mean score of experimental group post-test is higher than control group post-test. The mean of experimental post-test is 74.56 while the mean of Control post-test is 63.9, In addition the result of t-test was 6.51. Based on the result above, the speaking ability of the students’ increased. It means drill of rejoinder is effective to improve speaking ability of seventh grade in SMP N 3 Gombong in the academic year 2013/2014. en_US
