dc.description.abstract Textbook is one of components that is important because as everybody knows, textbooks have function to carry out the purpose of teaching learning to be more interesting and varied. Therefore, the researcher is interested to conduct the research with the aimed of the study is to know the apropriateness of textbook Look Ahead with the 2013 curriculum based on genre and language features. The method of this research is qualitative. The object of this study is textbook. Researcher analyzes about content of textbook based on genre and language features in ‘Look Ahead’ textbook whether appropriate or not with 2013 curriculum. Every chapter in the “Look Ahead” analyzes by researcher. The book of ‘Look Ahead’ is the textbook that is used by the teacher to teach 10th grade students of Senior High School. The data are collected in many steps. Firstly, the researcher classified texts in the book of “Look Ahead” into categorizes based on the syllabus of 10th grade Senior High School. Secondly, the research describes the result of the data analysis by making percentage. Thirdly, the researcher interprets the data qualitatively. The goal of this research is to find out the appropriateness of Look Ahead textbook with the 2013 on the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Kutowinangun in academic years 2013/2014. In this research, the writer analyze every text in Look Ahead and Talk Active textbook then classify in the genre and language features based on theory. Researcher analyze based on quality and quantity of textbook. Quantity containt about the sum every text types in Look Ahead and Talk Active textbook. Quality containt about the social function, generic structure, and language feature in every text in Look Ahead and Talk Active textbook based on theory. Based on the research finding which has been, the result of this research are the text in Look ahead that appropriate with the 2013 curriculum there are 74% that consist of recount (26%), narrative (20%), description (28%). So, it can be concluded that genre and language features of Look Ahead textbook appropriate with the 2013 curriculumthe at the tenth grade students of SMAN 1 Kutowinangun in the academic years 2013/2014. en_US
