sampling. The researcher gave pre-test and post-test to the class. The researcher
taught narrative text by using predicting strategy. The researcher then statistically
analyzed the data.
After analyzing the data, the researcher concludes that teaching narrative

narrative text. As the fact, the effectiveness using predicting strategy for teaching
reading comprehension of the tenth grade at SMK N 1 Purworejo in the academic
year 2015/2015 is effective. It can be seen from the mean score of pre-test 62.93

with df (32-1), it is (4.42>2.04). It means that the predicting strategy used by the
researcher is effective for reading comprehension narrative text of the tenth grade
students of SMK N 1 Purworejo. Therefore, the researcher’s hypothesis with 0.95
