dc.description.abstract This research was conducted at SMK YPE Sawunggalih Kutoarjo in the academic year of 2015/2016. The objective of this research is to describe whether using suggestopedia method is effective or not in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text at the tenth grade of SMK YPE Sawunggalih Kutoarjo in the Academic Year of 2015/2016 The sample of this research is 42 students of the tenth grade using purposive sampling technique. The research design of this research is using one group pretest posttest design as one of pre-experimental designs. Then the researcher used pretest and posttest to gain the data. Based on the result of research, it is found that the mean of posttest is higher than pretest (77.857 > 64.881). There is significance different between the mean of pretest and posttest. It means that the use of suggestopedia method is effective in teaching reading comprehension of narrative text at the tenth grade students of SMK YPE Sawunggalih Kutoarjo in the academic year of 2015/2016. Then, the t-value is lower than t-table (-10.554 < -2.021) with probability (p) is lower than α (0.05), it is 0.000 < 0.05. It means that (Ha) is accepted. In other words, suggestopedia method can be one of alternative to teach reading comprehension. It creates a cozy atmosphere with the play of the music as a background of learning so that the students will relax and enjoy the process of learning. en_US
