dc.description.abstract English is very important to be taught in Indonesia because it is like a password to make students easier to communicate with others. Learning English consists of four language skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Those have role, it can be called Grammar. Therefore, English also has to learn Grammar. So teaching foreign language to students should be interesting and fun to improve their grammar. E-learning Think Talk Write is one of method that could be used for teaching grammar. The aim of this research is to describe whether using E-learning Think Talk Write method is effective or not in teaching degree of comparison for students at the eighth grade in SMP N 4 Purworejo in the academic year of 2013/2014. In this research, the researcher took two classes as the sample, they are VIII F which consists of 31 students as the experimental group and VIII E which consists of 31 students as the control group. The number of sample is 62 students. To collect the data, the researcher uses pre-test and post-test. Before conducting post-test in experimental group, the researcher gives treatment and in control group without treatment. The researcher used E-learning Think Talk Write method to teach degree of comparison. Statistically, the researcher analyzed the data by using t-test. The result of this research shows that the mean score of pre-test and post-test of experimental group are 71.61 and 78.87. The mean score of pretest and post-test of control group are 71.29 and 75.32. The result of t-value is2.17, based on the 0.05 significance level, the value of t-table is 2.000, the computation shows that t-value is higher than t-table, which is 2.17>2.000. Moreover, E-learning Think Talk Write method is effective to teach degree of comparison. It can be seen from gained score control group and experimental group which give the treatment. The mean of experimental group is higher than control group. So, it can be concluded that the use of E-learning Think Talk Write method is effective to teach degree of comparison at the eighth grades in SMP N 4 Purworejo in the academic of year 2013/2014. en_US
