Abstract:
This research is aimed to describe the effectiveness of using meme comic in teaching writing spoof text at eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Kroya in the academic year of 2015/2016.
This research is conducted in IPA Class XI of SMAN 2 Kroya in the second semester. The research was started in April 2016. The population of this research is the eleventh grade of SMAN 2 Kroya in the academic year of 2015/2016. It consists of 120 students and as divided into 4 classes. The researcher took two classes as the sample of the research consisting of 30 students from XI IPA 1 and 30 from XI IPA 2. The researcher uses purposive sampling in taking the sampling. The technique used for collecting data is pre-test, giving treatment and post-test.
The result of this study shows that using meme comic in teaching writing spoof text is effective. It can be seen from data that are gotten. The mean of the experimental group is 72.33, while the mean of control group is 61.50. in other words, the mean of experimental group is than that of the control group. From the data finding the result of t-value is 6.48. Based on the 0.05 significant levels, the value of t-table is 1.999. The computation shows that t-value is higher that t-table, that is (6.48>1.999). The result of this research shows that the hypothesis “ Using meme comic is effective in teaching writing spoof text at eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Kroya in the academic year of 2015/2016.
