dc.description.abstract Language is used to communicate and express our feeling with others. Moreover, one of languages which we learn is English. English is one of foreign languages which must be mastered by students in Indonesia. The students must master many skills in English such as, writing, listening, reading, and speaking. And also there are language components, namely grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. The researcher thinks that the most difficult skill to learn is speaking. The researcher used Googe Now Application and Manual Dictionary as a media for mastering pronunciation. The students must have confident to speak English, expecially how to pronounce words fluently. By using Google Now Application, the students can learn interestingly. The aim of this research is to know whether there is significance difference using Google Now Application and Manual Dictionary of students’ pronunciation mastery of the second-semester at Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in the Academic year 2013/2014. In this research, the researcher took 34 students at the second-semseter at Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in the Academic year 2013/2014 as the sample. The researcher used pronunciation test to know the score of pronunciation mastery. The researcher used Google Now Application as a media for mastering pronunciation. Statistically, the researcher analyzed the data by using t-test. The result of mean score this research shows that there is significance difference their pronunciation mastery between using Google Now Application and Manual Dictionary for the second-semester English Education Program at Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in the academic year 2013/2014, since it was found that the result of t-value is 2.419 based on 0.05 significance level , the value of t-table is 2.037, the computation shows that t-value is higher than t-table that is 2.419 > 2.037. The mean score of the students using Google Now Application is 80.82. It means that pronunciation mastery of the students in using Google Now Application belonged to “excellent” category. Meanwhile, the mean of the students using Manual Dictionary is 74.47. It means that pronunciation mastery of the students in using Manual Dictionary belonged to “good” category. en_US
