dc.description.abstract English is as the first foreign language which is taught in the school formally. To master English, there are four basic language skills namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. Listening is a complex process in which many things happen simultaneously inside the mind. Assessment is an important part of teaching learning process which measures students‟ progression. One ways to measure the students‟ knowledge or skill is test. Listening skills‟ assessment is quite interesting because it measures a current students‟ listening skill. The objective of this research is to find out whether the application of wondershare quiz creator is effective to assess listening skill on the second semester of English Education Program of Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in academic year 2013/2014. The research belongs to comparative study research design. The participants of the research are the second semester of English Education Program of Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in the academic year 2013/2014. The researcher takes one class as her sample which is consists of 35 students. The research uses test as her instrument. The data in her research are mainly gathered through pre-test and post-test. After the data collected, the researcher calculated uses t-test to calculate and to test hypothesis proposal. Seeing from the finding of the research, it shows that there is a difference achievement got by the students in pre-test using conventional method and post-test using wondershare quiz creator. The mean score of pre-test is 49.71 and the mean of post-test is 72.26. It can be seen that the mean of post-test using wondershare quiz creator was higher than pre-test using conventional method. It shows that t-table is 2.032 and t-value is 4.715. It means that t-value was higher than t-table that is 4.715 > 2.032. So, it can be conclude the use wondershare quiz creator to assess listening skill the second semester of English Education Program of Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo in the academic year 2013/2014 is effective. en_US
