Abstract:
The objectives of this thesis were to know the learning motivation, to
reveal the learning achievement, and to find out whether positive and significant
correlation between learning motivation and English learning achievement at the
second grade students of SMK N 3 Purworejo in 2013/2014 Academic Year.
This research belonged to correlation study. The respondent was 28
students in second grade students of SMK N 3 Purworejo in the academic year of
2013/2014. They were taken by using simple random sampling. In collecting data,
the writer used questionnaire and document. The questionnaire was used to know
the result of learning motivation, the document was used to know the result of
English learning achievement. This method of research is quantitative research.
Based on the computation, the writer found three things. First, learning
motivation at the second grade students of SMK N 3 Purworejo in the academic
year 2013/2014 was sufficient, shown by the mean (59.35). Second, English
learning achievement of the second grade student of SMK N 3 Purworejo in the
academic year 2013/2014 was categorized sufficient, shown by the mean (63.30).
Third, there is a positive and significant correlation between learning motivation
and English learning achievement at the second grade students of SMK N 3
Purworejo in the academic year 2013/2014 was (0.511) and it is catagorized as
medium correlation.
