Abstract:
Based on the research finding which has been discussed in the chapter IV, the
researcher is able to conclude that the use of personal identity card in teaching writing
descriptive text to the seventh grade student of SMP N 6 Purworejo in the academic year
of 2013/2014 can be stated as effective. This statement was supported with the result of
the score of the students in experimental group which mostly increase from the pre-test
and post-test after they were given treatment. It can be proven by the increasing of the
mean score of the experimental group. The mean score before given treatment was 62.4,
while the score after given treatment was 74.4. The score of the students in experimental
group were mostly increased from the pre-test and post-test after they were given
treatment.
It means that teaching writing descriptive text through Personal Identity Card is
effective. Besides, the t-value of 8.263, with significance level of 0.05 and df=29, the ttable
is 2.045. The t-value obtained (8.263)>t-table (2.045). Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha
is accepted.
