The Comparative Study of Students Achievement in Learning Simple Past Tense Through Power Point Media and Through No Media in SMA Negeri 5 Purworejo Class X

Abstract

Theis thesis is entitled “The Comparative Study of Students Achievement in Learning Simple Past Tense Through Power Point Media and Through No Media in SMA Negeri 5 Purworejo Class X”. The researcher chooses this title because first, the researcher wants to know the students’ achievement in learning simple past tense using power point media, second, the writer wants to know the achievements of the students in learning simple past tense using no media, and the third is to know the difference between sthe students’ tought with power point media and with no media. The researcher has conducted the research in SMA Negeri 5 Purworejo class X3 and class X6. The population is class X1, X2, X3, X4, X6, and X7. And the sample is taken from class X3 as the control group and class X6 as the experimental group. The sum of all population is 210 students. And the researcher took 60 students from two classes, X3 and X6. After doing the analysis the researcher proves there can be seen that the T = 1.588, df = 58. So the researcher concludes that there is a difference from the experimental group and control group. It can be seen that the Tstat = 1.588, and it is in positive form. It means that the value of the experimental group using power point media is higher than the control group which is using no media. we also can see from the the descriptive statistic that the mean of the experimental group is higher than the control group. That is 78.67 for the experimental group and 73.33 for the control group.
