Abstract
Devi Rustiana. The Influence of Using Fly Swatter Game In Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at The Seventh Grade of SMP Negeri 4 Purworejo in Academic Year of 2018/2019. S1 Thesis. English Education Program. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Purworejo Muhammadiyah University. The objectives of the research is to find out whether or not there is positive and significant influence using fly swatter game in students’ vocabulary mastery at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 4 Purworejo in academic year of 2018/2019. The sample of this research consists of 32 students in which the researcher applying purposive sampling. The population of this research is the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Purworejo in the academic year of 2018/2019. The total of the seventh grade students is 256 students. The instrument to take the data is multiple choice tests. There are pre-test and post test. Mean and standard deviation are used in the descriptive analysis, while test of normality and hypothesis is used in the inferential analysis. The result of the data computation indicates that the mean score of post test is higher than the mean score of pre-test (84.63 > 65.13). The result of hypothesis test shows that the value of correlation is 0.581 which higher than R square is 0.003 or 0.03%. It means that fly swatter game value influenced the students’ vocabulary mastery as big as 0.03% and the residue is 99.7% influenced by other factors. The significant value of regression based on SPSS 20 is 0.004 which is lower than 0.05. It means that there is no positive and significant influence between two variables.
