    The Strategy Of Translating Humor English Into Indonesian In the Novel “ Cannery Row” By John Steinbeck

    This research is aimed to teacher always be active, develop in the digital media and in the development of the world of education. Translating humor is one of the activities or side job where teachers can receive work and at the same time develop themselves in the world of education, In this case being an English teacher. The researcher focuses on the translation humor in found in conversation in the novel“Cannery Rows” by John Steinbeck. Source of the data used in this study was conversation in the novel. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive type of the study. The result of the study there are 12 conversation humor found in the novel and translating into indonesian. Indicated as humor containing satire , sarcasm, deep structure, joke and farce to farce. The strageis of translating humor english into indonesian reseacher found repetion strategies.

    Analysis of Figurative Language Used in John Green’s Novel “The Fault in Our Stars” and its Application in Teaching Writing

    This study aims to idetify the types of figurative language in John Green’s novel The Fault in Our Stars and to explain the application of this analysis in teaching writing, specifically f or eleventh-grade high school students. This study is categorized as descriptive qualitative research. The subject of the research is the novel The Fault in Our Stars. The data for this research consist of sentences containing figurative language in the novel. To collect the information, the study's author followed several phases: reading the novel, finding text that contains figurative language, listing the expressions that use figurative language (personification, metaphor, and hyperbole), and organizing the three varieties of expressive language. In analyzing the data, the study's author implemented several steps: identifying the figurative language, classifying it according to the categories identified in the novel The Fault in Our Stars, grouping the sentences based on expressive language (personification, metaphor, and hyperbole) according to Fussell’s theory, and applying the findings in teaching writing. The results of this research show that there are 211 instances of figurative language, classified into three types: 64 figurative languages of hyperbole (30%), 68 figurative languages of personification (32%), and 79 figurative languages methapors (38%). The results of this study can be utilized in teaching writing, particularly in the use of figurative language. The author also suggests using English novels as learning media.

    The Effectiveness of Describing Picture Strategy to Improve Student Speaking Skill at The Fourth Grade Students of Muhammadiyah Baledono Elementary School in the Academic Year of 2024/2025

    This study aims to describe the using of pictures to improve student’s speaking skill. The subject of this study is the fourth grade of Baledono Muhammadiyah Elementary School in academic year 2023/2024. Further the purpose of this study is to describe whether there is an effectiveness or not of using picture for teaching speaking skill. The finding revealed that there is an effectiveness of using picture to improve student’s speaking skill. The statistics discussion stated that the mean score for the pre-test is 21.21 with a standard deviation of 4.518 and a standard error of the mean (SEM) OF 0.775. The mean score for the post test-higher, at 26.65, with a slightly lower standard deviation of 4.451 and SEM of 0.763. is stated that there is an improvement from the pretest to posttest score. It was revealed that student’s speaking skill was being improved.

    The Effectiveness of Chunking Strategy to Improve Studentsʼ Reading Comprehension at the Seventh Grade of SMP Negeri 24 Purworejo in the Academic Year of 2023/2024

    In this research, the aims of this study is to find out whether using Chunking Strategy in teaching reading on the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 24 Purworejo in the academic year of 2023/2024 is effetcive or not. The data was taken at SMP Negeri 24 Purworejo on January 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th, 31th, and 1st February 2024. In order to achieve the aim of of this study, the researcher used quantitative and pre-experimantal research design. The population of this study is the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 24 Purworejo in the academic year of 2023/2024 consist of 176 students. By employing purposive sampling, the sample of this study is class VII D as control group consist of 24 students and class VII E as experimental group consist of 24 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used test as the intrument. In collecting data, the researcher gave pre-test and post-test to the both the group. Meanwhile, the researcher gave treatment to the experimental class and gave explanation of the material to the control class. The result of this research can be seen by mean score of the post-test both of experimental and control group, and can be seen by two sided significance value. The conclusion is that the mean score of the post test of experimental group was higher than control group (71.67>41.25), then two sided significance value was higher than 0,05 (0.200>0.05).Therefore, it can be concluded that chunking strategy to improve students reading comprehension at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 24 Purworejo in the academic year of 2023/2024 was effective.

    The Effectiveness of Using OmeTV As Point To Point Communication To Improve Speaking Skill At Tenth Grade Of SMK Tamtama 2 Prembun

    The aims of this research are (1) to find out whether using OmeTV to Improve students' speaking skill is effective or not and (2) describe the students speaking skill This research belongs to quantitative research using pre-experimental design The population of this research is the tenth grade students of SMK Tamtama 2 Prembun which consists of 81 students. The sample of this research is X MPLB that consist of 30 students. The data were taken at 22th August 2023 until 5th September 2023. The technique of the data collection is using test. It was done by giving pre test and post-test Meanwhile, the technique of data analysis used descriptive analysis and inferential analysis The result of this research shows that the mean score of pre-test is 48.83 which belongs to poor category, and the mean score of post-test 5.81 which belongs to sufficient category. To see whether the hypothesis is accepted on rejected, the researcher uses t-test through IBM SPSS 27. The result of two sided significance value is 0.001 Based on the 0.05 significance level, the computation shows that two sided significance value is lower than 0.05 (0.01-0.05) Therefore, it can be concluded that OmeTV media is effective to Improve students' speaking Skill at Tenth grade of SMK Tamtama 2 Prembun.
