Abstract
This study aims to analyze the use of the Relative Strength Index (RSI) as one of the technical analysis indicators in making investment decisions in banking stocks. The capital market offers profit opportunities, but also risks. Therefore, investors need tools to help identify price trends and market momentum. This study uses historical stock price data from several leading banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and included in the LQ45 index. The banks sampled in this study are 5 banks, namely: Bank Mandiri, Bank BNI, Bank BRI, Bank BTN, and Bank BCA. The methodology used is quantitative descriptive analysis, which focuses on the movement of the RSI. Daily stock price data is collected, then the RSI value is calculated. Next, the RSI value is compared to the stock price movement to identify sell (overbought) and buy (oversold) signals. The results show that the use of the RSI can provide a significant signal in predicting a reversal of stock price trends. However, it should be noted that the RSI should not be used as the sole basis for decision-making, but rather combined with other indicators, such as trading volume and fundamental analysis, for more optimal results.
