This research is classroom observation research because the researcher gives a teaching method that has to apply. The researcher act as observer and the teacher act as object of observation.
After analyzing the data, After analyzing data about improvement students’ reading skill through Team-based learning, can be concluded that the method of Team-based Learning is not appropriate for Junior High school especially students in eighth grade of SMP N 1 Kajoran. It can be seen from the teacher role when he applies in the class. In the first meeting, based on the observation sheet above, it showed that the teacher does not apply the role of Team-based learning, especially in the pre teaching. He just started by greeting, asked students to pray together, checking attendance, and then asked students the following questions related the material. Then, in the whilst teaching, teacher gives a text 5-10 pages to students but the students can not read all because limited time. So, in the first meeting the teacher’s role of Team-based learning did not do as a whole. In the second meeting, based on the observation sheet above, when teacher gives a text 5-10 pages, the students did not read all the pages again because of limited time. But the teacher was able to perform these steps properly. When the teacher wants to circulate and encourages team to appeal question they got incorrect, the teacher leaves the classroom because he called headmaster. So, after all of the process had finished, teacher evaluated students by giving evaluation test. The evaluations were used to control learning program. The last, teacher asked students to said hamdalah together then he closed the meeting.
