    THE ANALYSIS OF TEACHING VIDEO FROM “GURU PINTAR ONLINE” AND ITS APPLICATION FOR TEACHING READING ON THE TWELFTH GRADE OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

    Teacher, as a person who delivers the knowledge to the students should aware about their students’ learning styles. Moreover, strategy is one way that used to achieve the goal. In this case, strategy is one ways which can be used by teacher or students to enhance the language learning. This study aims to find out the strategies used by the teacher and to describe how teacher applies strategies in teaching reading in the video YouTube channel by “Guru Pintar Online” entitled Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Reading Comprehension News Report for XII Grade of Senior High School. This study belongs to a qualitative research. In collecting the data, this research used data observation and in analyzing the data using some procedures; data reduction, data display, and verify. The results show that in the video “Guru Pintar Online” there is an approach model used by teachers in teaching and learning, namely the Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach (CALLA) which includes five phases of the instuction sequence; Preparation, Presentation, Practice, Self-Evaluation, and Expansion. In each phase there are strategies namely (rereading, scanning, translating, taking notes, and highlighting); metacognitive (using prior knowledge, paying attention, and setting goals). The researcher summarizes the results of data analysis found in the video before analyzing the data in detail. Based on the result and analysis from video observation, the researcher can conclude that the strategies used by the teacher in the English teaching learning process of the video and the English teacher strategies applies in teaching English learning process of the video. The researcher hopes that this thesis can be used in understanding the material and useful for the world of education. In addition, it can help students to improve their learning experience and ability in reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
